JOB TITLE: Wood Finisher

FULL TIME: 7:00am – 3:30pm

DEPARTMENT: Finishing Department

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: To stain, rub, sand, wax Glaze Door Glass and fit all parts for High End Quality Furniture.

REQUIREMENTS OF A WOOD FINISHER:

• Calculating measurements.
• Attention to detail for producing High End Quality Furniture.
• Working with Finishing Chemicals.
• Filling, sanding, glazing and grain toning of finishing materials on furniture.
• Spraying of finishing materials.
• Must be able to distinguish all colors.
• Inspect for all imperfections and correct all flaws.
• Hand sanding and block rubbing with the pattern of the grain.
• Waxing and cleaning of the furniture.
• Applying hardware to furniture such as drawer pulls, hinges and locks.
• Installation of glass and glazing of door glass.
• Ability to learn style numbers, finish numbers and all parts required to go with each piece of furniture such as the required hardware, shelves, finials, liners, shelf clips and levers.
• Inventory and placing orders for finishing supplies to the purchaser.
• Ability to lift heavy weight.
