Job Description
Job Title: Quality Control Technician                                                                             FLSA status: Non-exempt
Department: Quality                                                                                                          Reports To: Supervisor


Position responsibilities:
 
  • Monitors production process to ensure that products meet or exceed Quality Specifications as outlined in QA manual.
  • Checks all essential quality factors to include temperature, fill, brix, acidity, and etc. at start-up and during remainder of shift.
  • Maintains pack records for each code produced, ensures that codes are correct and legible, makes label checks, and ensures that dud detectors are operating properly, etc.
  • Advises Dept. Manager of and deviations from Quality Standards.
  • Collects and retains samples as required.
  • Must be able to operate lab equipment and perform quality analysis.
  • Responsible for other assigned duties to include but not limited to housekeeping, safety, recovering damaged product, and etc.

Essential skills and experience:
 
  • Reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication, problem solving.

Education and Experience:
 
  • High School Graduate / GED
SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:
  • Support SQF requirements by maintaining food safety plan and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and Kosher product requirements.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action and or Food Defense issues to the Food Safety and Quality Department.
Safety Responsibilities:
  • Safety is vitally important not only at our facility but also from a personal standpoint. Employees are responsible for understanding and following all safety procedures. Likewise, food safety is a key performance indicator. Understanding this, GMP and housekeeping procedures are to be followed as part of any job at our facility.
