POSITION:               QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN

SHIFT INTENTION:  1^st SHIFT WITH FLEXIBILITY
       
DESCRIPTION:       
Monitors production process to ensure that products meet or exceed Quality Specifications as outlined in QA manual.  Checks all essential quality factors to include temperature, fill, brix, acidity, etc. at start-up and during remainder of shift.  Maintains pack records for each code produced, ensures that codes are correct and legible. Makes label checks and ensures dud detectors are operating properly, etc.  Advises department manager of any deviations from Quality standards.  Collects and retains samples as required.  Must be able to operate lab equipment and perform quality analysis.  Must pass GMP Test. Responsible for other assigned duties to include but not limited to housekeeping, safety, recovering damaged product, etc.
