Description
Position summary: Provide leadership and support in functional areas of human resources including recruitment, employment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluation, benefits administration, employee development, training, EEO and special projects. Serves as a strategic and tactical business partner to the Plant leadership team. Assist in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings. Prepare reports in conformance with legislated requirements or company needs. Reports to the Vice President of Resources.
 
 
Position responsibilities:
  • Provide human resource generalist services, including compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e. EEOC, Human Rights, OFCCP, and OSHA).
  • Provide direction to employees in the resolution of problems, related to benefits, company policies, etc.
  • Source, screen and recommend candidates for employment and conduct new employee orientation.
  • Support the administration of Worker’s Compensation and coordination of workplace safety programs.
  • Conduct training sessions related to Ethics, benefits, safety, or others as required.
  • Oversee all administration of human resource functions, which includes benefits administration, safety, worker’s compensation, and payroll within the Manufacturing center.
  • Responsible for annual benefits open enrollments, maintain payroll and human resources records/reports and handle various audits on an annual basis.
  • Responsible for all policies, procedures and programs relating to human resources, i.e. employment, personnel policies and procedures, employee records, medical, management development, training, exempt and non-exempt salary administration, employee benefits administration and employee communication, safety and security.
  • Handle staffing issues, such as mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures

Essential skills and experience:
 
  • Reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication, problem solving.
 
Education and Experience:
 
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus
  • 4 plus years of related experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • 3-5 years HR generalist experience.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and time management.
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications.
  • Experience in maintaining a union presence in the administration of a collective bargaining agreement including grievance investigation, responses and participation in contract negotiations desirable.
 
SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:
  • Support SQF requirements by maintaining food safety plan and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and Kosher product requirements.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action and or Food Defense issues to the Food Safety and Quality Department.
Safety Responsibilities:
  • Safety is vitally important not only at our facility but also from a personal standpoint. Employees are responsible for understanding and following all safety procedures. Likewise, food safety is a key performance indicator. Understanding this, GMP and housekeeping procedures are to be followed as part of any job at our facility.
