Description
Position Summary: Responsible for efficient manufacturing at the Winchester facility by supervising production, staff, organizing and monitoring work flow. Interaction with Production Planning, Maintenance, QA, and Warehousing is critical.

Day-shift position 5:am-5:pm
Night-shift position 5:pm-5:am
 
Position Responsibilities:
 
  • Coordinate all daily production activities to include; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Select, orient, and administer training to new staff.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; to accomplish work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Meet all Customers Quality standards by signing-off on all required paperwork.

Education:
 
  • Two-year associate degree, vocational training, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in production supervision.
 
Reporting to this position: Various General Labor Operators as required.

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:
  •       Support SQF requirements by maintaining food safety plan and food quality through completing          job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manor to ensure compliance with FDA,        USDA, and Kosher product requirements.
  •       Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action and or Food Defense       issues to the Food Safety and Quality Department.
Safety Responsibilities:
  •        Safety is vitally important not only at our facility but also from a personal standpoint.                 Employees are responsible for understanding and following all safety procedures. Likewise, food        safety is a key performance indicator. Understanding this, GMP and housekeeping procedures        are to be followed as part of any job at our facility.

  •         Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment requires mandatory use of ear plugs.
