Responsible for the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, account and bank reconciliations.  Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the finance team in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting and finance departments.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
 
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Complete general ledger operations
  • Monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
  • Draw up monthly financial reports
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as requested.
  • Assist with year end closings.
  • Assist with the administration of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Prepare tax computations and returns.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
  • Account/Bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Assist with preparing, analyzing, and reporting weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by brand by customer type.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards.
Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.
Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills.
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products.
Strong organizational skills.

SQF Requirements / Responsibilities:
  • Support SQF requirements by maintaining food safety plan and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manor to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and Kosher product requirements.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action and/or Food Defense issue to the Food Safety and Quality Department.
