Position summary: Monitor material flow or instruments such as temperature or pressure gauges, indicators, or meters to ensure optimal processing conditions.
 
Position responsibilities:
  •       Observes the container cleaning, filling, and capping operations.
  •       Removes defective containers.
  •       Eliminates jams in lines.
  •       Uses electrical switches to start and stop lines.
  •       Enters appropriate information in pouch coder
  •       Operates Batcher position 
  •       Oversees and maintains coders, controls line speeds, and performs certain Quality Assurance checks.
  •       Maintains production reports and records.
  •       Makes minor repairs to equipment to include line changeovers.
  •       Set up or adjust machine controls to regulate conditions such as material flow, temperature, or pressure.
  •       Inspect machines or equipment for hazards, operating efficiency, malfunctions, wear, or leaks.
  •       Examine samples visually or by hand to verify qualities such as clarity, cleanliness, consistency.
  •       Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory analysis.
  •       Requires Forklift Certification
  •       Keeps Pouch Line supplied with raw materials and ingredients, etc
  •       Other duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience:
·      Reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication, problem solving.
 
Education and Experience:
 ·     High School Graduate / GED

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:
·         Support SQF requirements by maintaining food safety plan and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manor to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and Kosher product requirements.
·         Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action and or Food Defense issues to the Food Safety and Quality Department.
Safety Responsibilities:
·         Safety is vitally important not only at our facility but also from a personal standpoint. Employees are responsible for understanding and following all safety procedures. Likewise, food safety is a key performance indicator. Understanding this, GMP and housekeeping procedures are to be followed as part of any job at our facility.

·         Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment requires mandatory use of ear plugs.
